Guerlain Ecrin 6 Couleurs Eye Shadow Palettes Review

How much is besides much to spend on a makeup palette? Earlier you answer that, y'all might want to encounter what Olga has to say in today'due south guest post. Warning: Her pictures are dazzling!

Nobody does luxury like Guerlain, but non even in my wildest dreams could I have imagined something as glamorous equally their new Écrin 6 Couleurs middle shadow palettes that came out this fall. The pictures speak for themselves: just await at that filigree cover, the little bee (symbol of Guerlain that dates back to Nineteen century) on it, and the large cute mirror that opens up to the side of the palette. It was only appropriate to name each of the v palettes later a Guerlain boutique in Paris!

The ane I ended up buying is named after Guerlain's flagship bazaar at 68, Avenue des Champs-Elysées. My choice was partly due to the fact that I like purple and don't accept enough grays, and partly because I really similar the thought of looking at Champs-Elysées in the morn (who wouldn't? 🙂 )

Only enough near the packaging, and on to the product. Each palette features five neutral shades in different finishes and a pop of colour at the center. The shadows are finely milled, quite pigmented and long staying, at least when used over a primer (I utilise UDPP nether all eye makeup, otherwise information technology all migrates up onto the pucker in the beginning half an hour). I have had fallout issues with all the eyeshadows I have ever used — from Revlon to Dior, so I am happy to study that Écrin 6 Couleurs have no fallout whatsoever. Having said that, I even so do not think the quality justifies the toll ($84).

Shimmery white highlight color (sheer compared to others), calorie-free matte greyness (the little glitters were left on the brush from swatching the shimmery white), blue tinted gray with satin finish, purple with satin cease, dark matte taupe grayness, and a charcoal liner. The latter is also a powder middle shadow, but feels somewhat creamy compared to the other shades.

To me, no makeup product can be worth that much — at to the lowest degree, not worth it in the practical sense. But if I was practical about my makeup, my entire beauty stash would fit inside a TSA canonical ziplock baggie, which it certainly does non. The primary reason why I habiliment makeup on the first place is that I love the process of putting information technology on, or, rather, taking the time out of my solar day to do information technology. Spending 15 minutes in the morn at a vanity table, cached deep inside a traincase, sets the tone for the unabridged day.
